Josh Duggar is adjusting to life under home confinement. As he does, he continues to have the support of his family.
The Sun reports that Josh's wife, Anna Duggar, brought their six children for a visit to the home where Josh is staying. She is currently pregnant with their seventh child, having announced the pregnancy just a week before Josh's arrest by federal authorities.
In the current court-ordered arrangement, Josh is allowed to see the children only with Anna present. He is forbidden from coming in contact with any other minor children between now and his trial, scheduled for July 6.
Josh Duggar is getting used to being a guest in someone else's home. The 33-year-old former 19 Kids & Counting star is on home confinement at the home of third-party custodians Lacount and Maria Reber. The couple are members of the Duggar family's church. They were asked for this favor by Jim Bob Duggar and agreed to do so as a delivery of ministry.
While the Rebers may have agreed, their neighbors weren't too thrilled to learn that Josh was staying at the three-bedroom, four-bathroom home, situated on nine acres of land. The Duggars believed Josh had his best shot at privacy there and are even offering to improve the property to ensure that.
Sources tell The Sun that Jim Bob has offered to pay for a fence to be built around the large property.
"Jim Bob is doing everything he can for Josh, and he's worried about the attention on him and the family," the source said.
"He's concerned about photographers in town covering the case, and anyone who might want to hurt Josh because of the crimes he's accused of. Those who have rebelled against the family think it's disgusting he's pulling out all the stops for him years after he was forgiven for molesting his own sisters."
"Jim Bob has offered to pay for a new fence to be built at the Rebers to also keep them safe, along with Josh's wife, Anna, and the kids when they go and visit," the source continued.
Ironically, the living conditions are an upgrade from where Josh had previously lived. He, Anna, and their kids have been living in a renovated warehouse on the Duggar family property.
Anna and the kids recently visited Josh for the first time since his arrest. Jason Gemeiner, who lives behind the Reber's property, reported seeing them arrive to The Sun:
"I believe I saw family visit, yes. I believe his wife and kids visited. I assume that's who they were. There were also other people."
While Josh is allowed unlimited access to his children with Anna's supervision, he is not allowed contact with other minor children. That includes his younger siblings as well as his nieces and nephews. For the neighbor who has a minor child, it wasn't the best news to receive.
"I'm a little concerned, but there is not much I can do about it," he shared.
"I have a teen daughter so that’s my concern, but she's a strong girl! We’re spread apart. There is a horse pasture in between us. It’s not like we interact. Everyone keeps to themselves."
The neighbor shared that in addition to official notice, the Rebers also spoke with neighbors about Josh coming to stay:
"They told us Josh is staying with them. I found out before they told us but I appreciated them telling us."
Anna has not commented on the charges against Josh, though she's stood by his side during previous scandals and is expected to continue doing so. Sources close to the situation say that Anna believes her husband is innocent and is being targeted for his conservative beliefs and political affiliations.
Many who have kept up with the Duggars over the years worry about Anna and the children. Most people feel very strongly that Josh shouldn't have access to his own kids and even speculate about whether any of them have been victims. However, those familiar with the religious beliefs of the family understand that Anna has been raised to believe these are trials brought forth by God, and as such will weather them to the best of her abilities.
