A Florida Artist Has Covered His Entire Home In Tin Foil, And It’s Driving The Neighbors Nuts

Let's pretend for a moment that your neighbor covered the entire surface area of his or her home exclusively in tin foil. Would you mind?

The neighbors of Tarpon Springs, FL resident Piotr Janowski certainly do. An artist, Janowski recently covered his home's facade in Reynolds aluminum foil, reports NBC News. And yes, that include all parts of the outside of the home; the doors, the fixtures, even the numbers of his home address. "It's just, you know — it's like metal clay," he tells NBC. And if you're wondering how he managed to keep all that foil up, he used spray-on adhesive.

"Residing in Tarpon Springs for a period of eight months, the project is centered around my home, my garden, and my palm trees," Janowski told ABC News in a statement. But the neighbors aren't too keen on the flashy installation, despite the fact that Janowski has clarified that he intends to take it down.

"Curious onlookers rarely identified the installation as art," Janowski added. "It was almost always assumed to have a practical value, such as a new form of insulation, pest control, or fire retardant. The act of covering the facade of a house (along with the palm trees and sculpture installation) introduced something uncommon and unexpected into the neighborhood environment, and hopefully offered a new perspective on what had been commonplace."

Well, he may not be Marina Abramović but the man's entitled to his creations.
