Unlike many dance groups, who focus on relatively young hip-hop and electronic music dance styles, the young women in the following clip from America's Got Talent remind us how important tradition can be — and how adding a little spark to something old can make it feel new again.
The Atlanta Professional Dance Academy is a very special place for these young dancers. According to their website, the academy provides "social and cultural activities for the Chinese and American people."
In the following performance from the "Jasmine Flowers Dance Team," a group of teenage girls, they combine ballet and Chinese folk/fan dancing with a modern twist that pleases the judges and leaves the crowd screaming for more.
