Rescued Baby Squirrel *Finally* Opens His Eyes And Eats Breakfast! Is There Anything Cuter?

It's officially squirrel season! Twice a year little ones are born, but sadly a large portion of them become separated from their mothers. Here's the story of one lucky baby who fell into exactly the right arms!

City Wildlife in Washington D.C. has been brought a whopping 16 baby squirrels this summer. The babies, ranging from 2 to 7 weeks old all need to be hand fed with syringes, as they would still be nursing from their mothers.

The urban wildlife center carefully tries to fatten up the little nut-lovers to prepare them for life in the wild. It takes baby squirrels a few weeks to get their eyes open wide, but once they do, it's SO sweet.

Check out this adorable video of one of their rescue babies. This little one is so happy to FINALLY be safe and have a tasty meal.
