Police are calling a bank manager in North Carolina a hero after he stopped a robber with a gun from entering the PNC Bank in Zebulon, NC — and it was all caught on surveillance video.
"I consider the manager a hero and I've already told him so," Zebulon Police Chief Tim Hayworth told North Carolina's WRAL.
The manager was standing by the back door when he saw a masked man running across the parking lot. Seconds later, the armed man tried to violently make his way into the bank. But the quick-thinking manager grabbed the door and held onto it as tightly as he could so that the robber couldn't make his way in. Eventually the robber gave up and ran off. The manager's bold move saved his staff and customers who were inside the bank at the time.
Much like the mom who bravely stopped a carjacker, this bank manager stopped what many believe could've been a serious tragedy.
"If the suspect had made it into the bank, you never know what's going to happen then," Hayworth said. "The guy is obviously agitated. Obviously has a gun. It could have been much worse had he made it into the bank."
