Beau Rothwell has been convicted of killing his pregnant wife after the two had a fight about whether or not he had cheated on her. He was found guilty of first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abandonment of a corpse.
Rothwell's team argued that the killing was not premeditated and hoped he would be convicted of a lesser charge of manslaughter.
Jennifer and Beau Rothwell had been married for four years before he beat her to death with a mallet. Authorities had previously found large amounts of blood on the carpet in the home the Rothwells shared.
During the trial, it was revealed that authorities believed Rothwell killed his wife on November 11, 2019, only two days before posting a plea online asking for help finding her. He wrote on Facebook, "Some of you may have heard already, but last night my wife Jennifer went missing. I’ve filed a police report and the search is ongoing. Please, if you hear of anything or have any information it would be greatly appreciated."
Rothwell had also put together a list of reasons to leave his wife, as well as sent numerous texts to a woman he was seeing. You can find out more about the case in the video below.
