He Was Down On His Luck Til An Antique Blanket Made Him Rich!!

Who doesn't love a good rags to riches story?! Hitting the jackpot can happen to just about anyone, but you have to love it when someone who is truly strapped for cash gets the help they need.

A down-and-out man from Southern California, who lost his leg in a car accident and couldn't work, was struggling to live off of his disability benefit checks when he realized he was sitting on a gold mine. The man, known as Big L.T. was watching an episode of Antiques Road Show, when he realized that a First-Phase Chief Navajo Blanket worth hundreds of thousands of dollars on the show was very similar to a one handed down to him.

Big L.T. who said he's never had enough money to get by in his entire life, decided to sell the family heirloom and was shocked to hear that it was one of only about 100 Navajo blankets believed to exist. Auctioneers said L.T.'s blanket was of "museum quality" and estimated the one-of-a-kind piece at $100-200k. When it came time to auction the piece, L.T. was brought to tears by what happened.

It's great to see someone hurting badly get the happy ending they've always wanted. His story just goes to show, there are some very valuable things hiding in attics and basements all over the world, just waiting to be discovered!
