Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton showcased their love yet again when they performed an unexpected duet at her show in Oklahoma City.
The couple has done this several times before –they memorably performed “Over You” in 2013.
This time, the lovebirds collaborated on Shelton’s 2011 cover of Dave Barnes’ "God Gave Me You." (The tune is on my list of the perfect country wedding songs.)
“[Miranda] asked me if I would come out here and sing a song,” Shelton told the crowd. “I wanted to do this song tonight because Miranda is the reason that I recorded this song.”
In 2014, the Voice coach told The Boot that he stumbled upon the song during a time when the couple was experiencing a rough patch in their relationship.
“I was flipping through stations and landed on a contemporary Christian station, and that song came on, and I almost had to pull the truck over,” he said. “I felt like I was hearing that song at that moment for a reason.”
Lambert and Shelton, who wed in 2011, often stole glances at each other as they passionately sang the tune at her Certified Platinum Tour.
Yet, it was the heartwarming moment at the 4:40 mark that really emphasized their feelings for each other.
