5-Year-Old Shows Up At Police Station With Treats And ‘Free Hugs’ To Show Support

Turning on the news has become a terrifying thing.

Often, you find your friends sharing online videos and articles with the caption "what is going on in the world?" and you probably are feeling similarly.

But for every story that makes your heart bleed, there is another story that brings light into our darkening world.

Jayden Hooker is only 5 years old, but he too is concerned by what he sees on the news today.

After hearing about police being hurt during protests in Charlotte, North Carolina, Jayden asked his mother if there was something he could do for his local officers.

Jayden brought donuts and a little sign that read "Free Hugs" down to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the officers were very touched.

His mother, Deanna, also posted on Facebook that Jayden had woken up to the sound of helicopters going over his home amid the protests. He heard more about the protests on his way to school and he was instantly alarmed. This young man wanted to show his support and it was this simple gesture that has gained so much attention!

If you loved this little boy showing support for the police, you will also love this young man who showed support to officers during a 16-hour standoff by bringing them food.
