Students Help A Boy With Autism Get Through His Talent Show Performance

It's no secret that kids in school can be cruel. But that wasn't the case at a middle school in Massachusetts. Students there demonstrated what it means to help out a peer in need.

Jagger Lavely, 13, participated in the Oak Middle School's talent show, where he performed "Let It Go" from Disney's Frozen. The young boy, who has autism, also dressed up as the movie character Olaf the Snowman.

In the midst of the performance, however, Lavely forgot some of the words. Forgetting the words during a song is a nightmare for any performer, and sometimes even more so for a kid. But, luckily he got some major support.

Instead of booing and laughing at him, kids in the audience decided to help him out by singing the lyrics to him. The beautiful act of compassion was caught on camera by Olivia Klein for Shrewsbury Media Connection.

The unforgettable incident meant the world to the boy's mother, Stacey Lavely, who called it her "favorite day ever." She also praised the children for their sweet deed.

"It was just that magical moment where it just felt like the entire community had just rallied around him," she told Massachusetts' WCVB. "It was just such a beautiful moment."
