Stranger Trespasses On Woman’s Lawn Overnight, Then She Opens Blinds And Sees Pink Flamingos

When Carol Smith was diagnosed with breast cancer and started undergoing treatment, she knew she was in for a very long and painful journey to recovery.

But what she didn't expect was for total strangers to try to ease her pain — and all it took was a simple gift of pink flamingos.

One morning soon after she started chemotherapy, Carol went downstairs in her house and opened the blinds.

There they were: Overnight, someone had trespassed onto her lawn, and installed several pink flamingos with balloons.

The gift lifted her spirits a great deal. She suspected that a family member was behind the thoughtful gift, but everyone she knows denied they were the benefactor of the pink flamingos.

Over the course of the past holiday season, the mysterious gift giver came back to rearrange the flamingos, turning them into Santa's reindeer, for example. He or she also came back for New Year's! With every new configuration, Carol felt more and more joy.

Now, she's almost done with her breast cancer treatments, and she says she got through it all in part thanks to the presence of the flamingos! She may never figure out who put them there, but she's certainly thankful for the gesture.
