The bride in the deemed "wedding of the century" has deleted her TikTok account after news of her new husband's criminal charges broke. Madelaine Brockway, a 26-year-old car dealership heiress from Fort Worth, Texas, and her groom, 29-year-old Jacob Chase LaGrone, went viral after clips of their five-day wedding surfaced around the internet.
The celebration took place in November in Paris and was shared via Brockway's TikTok. However, it came to light that LaGrone is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant after he allegedly fired at cops in Texas on March 14, 2023.
The story says that authorities received multiple calls that reported a disturbance. When three officers were responding to the home, LaGrone allegedly shot at them.
The indictment charges say that LaGrone “intentionally and knowingly [threatened] imminent bodily injury” and “did use or exhibit a deadly weapon during the commission of the assault, namely, a firearm."

He was arrested and later released on $20,000 bail. Neither Brockway or LaGrone have commented on the charges.
The groom appeared in court and could face up to life in prison if convicted. He didn't show up to the hearing at Tarrant Country District Court. He has been offered a plea deal, where he'd be sentenced to 25 years in exchange for forgoing a trial and pleading guilty.
The couple's wedding reportedly cost $59 million. It included a rehearsal dinner at the Paris Opera House, an overnight stay at the Palace of Versailles, and a private Maroon 5 concert at the reception.
The bride also hosted a “bachelorette week” at a luxury resort in Canyon Point, Utah. The lowest price for a one-night hotel room stay was $3,150.
After the bachelorette week, Brockway and her guests went to Paris. There, she treated them to a private viewing of the Chanel Haute Couture Suite, followed by an overnight stay at the Palace of Versailles. The lowest price for one night at Le Grand Contrôle (which is the hotel in the Château de Versailles) is around $2,400.
While many people gushed over the extravagant wedding, a lot of people also thought it was a little overboard.
"Disgusting to spend that much money on a wedding!" one person wrote.
"Wait I’m so confused," another person commented. "So he’s going to jail for 25 years, like not even a trial? And she married him? WHAT?"
