It’s almost impossible to get a reaction out of the Buckingham Palace guards. They hardly move in their distinguishable attire and they certainly don’t laugh.
But one man suffered every Buckingham Palace guard’s worst nightmare…and it was caught on tape for all to see. Tourists were stunned and you can even hear them gasping right after the :10 mark.
Sure, everyone suffers a mishap or two. Just look at these people who were close to making the biggest mistake of their lives. Sometimes, people even bring uncomfortable situations upon themselves, like University of Oregon’s Tanguy Pepiot who probably wishes he didn’t cheer when he did. But, when you’re one of these famous guards, a little incident like this could be downright humiliating.
David Meadwell was the man who caught all the action when he was on vacation with his family in London and decided to document the changing of the guard ceremony.
"The first group changed successfully, without any problems, and so I decided to video the next group doing it,” Meadwell told The Telegraph. "I didn't expect anything like this to happen.”
He added: “He looked so embarrassed."
Yet I commend the Buckingham Palace guard for how he handled the unfortunate situation.
