He Built An Entire Arcade Out Of Cardboard, But No One Came. Then, A Stranger Changed Everything

Caine Monroy is a nine-year-old boy from Los Angeles. At face value, you'd think he was like any other kid: charismatic, adorable, and pretty smart.

However, Caine is unlike most kids his age. His talent surpasses any expectation, like Raffi Arto the musical child prodigy or 11-year-old dancer Sean Lew.

While helping his father run his junkyard on weekends Caine began to do something spectacular.

He began to create his own arcade out of cardboard. When he asked his father for a claw machine, his dad suggested he make it instead.

Caine got a hook, some string, and a cardboard box — and the result was a fully functional arcade game! Over time, he has made dozens of elaborate games that anyone can play for a nickel.

Unfortunately, without walk-in traffic to the junkyard, Caine never had any customers. When he told the kids at school about his arcade, they made fun of him.

But he never gave up building. One day, his dad's customer Nirvan saw the arcade and was blown away.

He became Caine's first customer and forever changed his life. Nirvan made this short, beautiful film about the young boy's inspiration and what happened next was a national phenomenon.

After millions of people saw Caine's Arcade, 70 schools in 9 different countries began making them.

Nirvan has even raised $250,000 for Caine and brilliant kids like him to go to college. However, the real surprise is in the video below.

Watch how Nirvan shocked Caine, and I dare you not to tear up!

Caine's Arcade isn't exactly the kind of place that would be bustling with kids and gamers. It's in the front of his dad's auto parts store and junkyard. Before Nirvan showed up, Caine didn't have a single customer.

However, up close, it's pretty impressive that a nine-year-old (or anyone really) could create something so intricate and functional out of just cardboard! Take a look at this cool claw machine.

It's nice to see that Caine takes his work seriously. He proudly wears his Caine's Arcade "Staff" T-shirt that he designed himself. Unfortunately, he can only rock the shirt on weekends: Caine feared he'd be made fun of for it at school.
