She Traces Around The Cake Pan BEFORE Adding Batter—The Reason Is GENIUS!

When it comes to baking cakes and cupcakes, a number of interesting issues can rise up (no pun intended) if you're not careful and don't follow the right steps. Troubleshoot baking cakes and cupcakes with these culinary pros!

Oftentimes when I bake a cake, I take my delicious creation out of the oven, only to find tears and rips in the cake, with bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. But by tracing the bottom of the pan on a piece of parchment paper, cutting the circle out and fitting it perfectly into the bottom of the pan before adding the batter, the problem is easily solved. Also, it's important to grease not only the bottom of the pan, but also the sides.
