Woman Arrested for ‘Attempted Mayhem’ After Hiding Razor Blades in Bread at Walmart

Every single Halloween as a kid, my mom would confiscate my candy for a thorough inspection. She wasn’t swiping it; she was meticulously looking at it to make sure none of it was messed with. She constantly lectured me about how people would slip poison into candy or shove razor blades inside, and if I wasn’t careful, I could be “next.” Mama did not warn me, however, that I might have to worry about my bread. In Biloxi, Mississippi, two separate Walmart locations were recently terrorized by a woman who reportedly slipped razor blades into loaves of bread at the chain retailer.

Texan Camille Benson, 33, was arrested December 16, 2025, and charged with “attempted mayhem” for allegedly doing just that, according to ABC News. Lt. Candance Young told the outlet that employees claimed customers reported finding razor blades in loaves from Walmart Supercenter and Walmart Neighborhood Market. When employees went to inspect the merchandise, they found several other affected loaves.

“The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority,” Walmart shared via a statement to USA Today. “We have removed and thoroughly inspected all potentially affected products at impacted stores in Biloxi. We appreciate law enforcement for their swift action and will continue cooperating with them as they investigate.”

Surveillance footage apparently showed Benson entering both of the stores, but authorities do not think any other stores have been targeted at this time. Police are encouraging any community members who purchased bread from either location to proceed with caution and check it for any sharp objects. If anything is found, authorities want customers to go to the police.

Any customers who believe their product was tampered with can return to their local Walmart and receive a full refund. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Benson’s bond was set at $100,000 and she is at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Her motive has not yet been identified.

In 2021, a former employee of a company that makes pizza dough in Maine entered a supermarket and inserted razor blades into several products from the company he worked for. Three customers ended up purchasing those products and noticed the tampering as they were preparing the food, and luckily none of them was hurt either. The man, identified as Nicholas Mitchell, pleaded guilty to tampering with a consumer product and was sentenced to 10 years and a $250,000 fine.
