Cars have come a long way since the 1908 Ford Model T. The vintage automobile, known as a Tin Lizzie, was the first car to be mass-produced on an assembly line, which made it affordable enough for middle-class Americans to travel in style. The Model T had a convertible roof that resembled a horse-and-buggy, could only speed up to 40 mph, and had a boxy frame that sort of resembled that of a Jeep…if a Jeep looked like it ran on four bicycle wheels.
Modern cars have really evolved. First off, seat belts are standard, as is an alarm that consistently beeps if we don’t buckle our seat belts. Our cup holders are massive, our sound systems are connected to satellites, and some cars even have doors that vanish into thin air!
But what is even more impressive than automotive innovation is what some people are doing with vintage cars, like flipping them into something new and exciting that I, personally, would love to have in my backyard.
For instance, what Reddit user managerofnothing, does with an old VW Rabbit is truly remarkable.
I mean, let’s just put it this way — he really grills up something special…

It all started when he decided to restore his old VW Rabbit.

In order to do some renovations, he needed a few extra parts…

...which led him to buying the shell of another Rabbit.

Once he took what he needed, it felt like a waste to just throw the other pieces out.

So he came up with a brilliant idea of how to put them to use.

He stained and painted the hood and decided to cut a hole in the middle of the grill.

You’ll be amazed when you see why…

…but first, he took other leftover parts, like the fenders, and sanded them down and removed dents.

He also needed to paint the hood white to match the fenders.

Then he added the main ingredient.

Next, he assembled his masterpiece in his backyard. But what is it?

Here is a closer look at the inside of the grill. It's a…

…grill!!

It’s a grill that’s a grill! Aren’t puns fun?

Please SHARE this amazing project with everyone you know as a reminder that grilling season is right around the corner!
