Police work is a multifaceted job, with a lot of different responsibilities.
Some days officers deal with "traditional" police work like tracking stolen property, catching crooks, and so on. Others times, though, protecting and serving the community is just about stepping up for someone in need.
Officers of the law often find themselves assisting with stuff that isn't typical "police business," but is nonetheless a vital part of protecting their community.
In the case of a group of kind police officers from Centerton, AR, helping out their community this holiday season meant one thing: decking the halls!
When the good officers of Centerton learned that a disabled member badly wanted to decorate her house for Christmas, they swept in to help and made sure she got her Christmas wish!
Best of all, they posted some spectacular pictures that show just how much fun everyone had getting the house ready for the holiday season.

In early December, the Centerton Police Department posted a truly heartwarming series of photos.
The pictures show a group of officers getting in the Christmas spirit by decorating a house in their community.
The picture quickly racked up hundreds of likes and comments, touching hearts and souls all over the country!
Centerton is a small city of just under 10,000, and they clearly know how to take care of their own.
So, when the police found out that someone in town was struggling to decorate for the holidays due to a disability, they immediately took action!
They showed up to her house straightaway and began hanging lights and making the whole place shine with Christmas cheer!
According to the Facebook post that went up with the photos, the mayor of Centerton was the first one in on the project — he heard that someone needed help!
The caption reads, "Some days it's not just about writing tickets and taking people to jail. So when Centerton Mayor Bill Edwards put out an all-points bulletin (APB) for a disabled citizen in need, our officers sprang into action."
It goes on to say, "Community policing is a major need in this day and age and we believe even the smallest acts can leave lasting effects! Thank you citizens of Centerton for letting us serve you."
They certainly seem to have made a big impression on everyone in town, as everyone was wowed by the awesome officers and their attention to the community.
Mayor Bill Edwards posted the call to action after getting an email from someone in the community who wrote: "If you can help, I desperately need some assistance to put up my Christmas lights today. I am disabled and it is an important part of Christmas to me. I have only one eave that needs a sliding aluminum ladder which I do not have."
Well, Christmas is all about coming together and helping everyone enjoy the spirit of the season!
So when Det. Alex Wallace saw the mayor's post, he rustled up a few more officers and made a Christmas miracle happen.
The police department tells LittleThings: "It was a very uplifting experience for the citizen and our officers."
