As one of the funniest ladies to ever step foot inside a television studio, Carol Burnett has definitely earned her legendary status over the decades of her career.
And her sense of humor is just the tip of the iceberg! The iconic entertainer also took opportunities to show off her vocal chops while hosting her self-titled variety show for over 10 years. Burnett was even joined by the original queen of comedy herself, Lucille Ball, for one unforgettable performance.
In the 1975 clip below, however, her guest is another lady who is no stranger to holding her own as the host of her own variety series. As a world-famous pop sensation, Cher had just begun helming her show solo without former husband Sonny Bono when she sauntered over to Burnett's stage.
The two women stand side by side decked out in gorgeous gowns, which Cher mentions were designed by her longtime fashion collaborator Bob Mackie.
Burnett asks Cher about how she's enjoying her new gig, wondering if the songstress has ever found anything more exciting. Cher cracks a joke about the recent headlines she had been featured in, likely referring to her marriage to rocker Gregg Allman, to which Burnett chides her for being such a "silly goose."
