Desmond Hague, CEO of a giant food services company called Centerplate, was recently forced out of his position due to the consequences of a video that surfaced of him abusing a dog earlier this summer.
The elevator surveillance footage (warning, if you love animals, this video is pretty graphic) of Hague kicking and pulling a small dog enraged the Internet so much, that a petition to have him fired recently reached over 180,000 signatures.
At first, Centerplate didn't seem to have too much of a reaction to the video, but as more and more people saw it, and began to raise their voices, the company claimed that Hague was going to attend anger management courses, and even "donate $100,000 of his own money to an animal charity" while also putting in hours of community service.
But it wasn't enough, and in the wake of the Internet's anger with Hague, he was eventually ousted as the CEO.
What do you think? Was this the right move by the company? I have to say, after watching the video, I wouldn't want to have anything to do with a company run by a man who has the capacity to hurt a defenseless animal in the way he did.

The video, linked to in the article above, shows Hague kicking the dog for no reason, than yanking his leash harshly.

Until recently, Hague was the CEO of Centerplate, a hugely successful catering company.
