Chick-fil-A Is Giving Away Toy Soldiers To Remind Patrons To Pray For Our Soldiers

Chick-fil-A is on a mission to make sure that the true meaning of certain holidays are never forgotten. Those holidays, to be specific, are Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

The restaurant chain made headlines last November when it began setting up Missing Man tables in locations throughout the country in honor of soldiers missing in action.

These tables were set with meaningful items. As the letter set on the tables reads, "A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by those missing and their families who seek answers. The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain those lost from our country… The glass is inverted — to symbolize their inability to share this evening's toast." The tables sat empty, with the chair tipped forward, in observance of Veterans Day and for the following week.

In keeping with its well-known love for America and its appreciation for our nation’s soldiers, Chick-fil-A has now set up baskets filled with toy soldiers. The note that completes the display? “Please take a soldier home and place it somewhere that will remind you to pray for those who serve our country.”

This is such an amazing and simple way to make sure that we always keep our soldiers in our prayers!

We’re all familiar with good old Chick-fil-A. The chain restaurant has thousands of locations across the country and is known for serving up some of the best chicken sandwiches around.

And this past Veterans Day, the restaurant chain went above and beyond to pay tribute to soldiers who are currently missing in action. The Missing Man tables feature symbolic objects to represent the soldiers and their families. The tablecloth is white to represent the purity of a soldier’s intentions as he accepts the call of duty, the glass is inverted to represent the soldier’s inability to share a toast with friends and family, and the chair is empty and tipped forward because the soldier is not there.

These Missing Man tables were a somber reminder of what Veterans Day is really about, and the price that many families pay so that our country remains free and safe. The tribute remained for the entire week of Veterans Day before the tables were returned to use.

Beginning on Memorial Day, Chick-fil-A locations across the country began displaying toy soldiers with one simple request. It's something that anyone can do, and it's sure to mean a lot to soldiers and military families across the country.

Patrons are being asked to take a toy soldier home and display it in their homes as a reminder to pray for those who who have served, are currently serving, and have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It's a wonderful way to show your appreciation to those who risk their lives to defend our freedom!
