Couple Plans Their Wedding In A Week After Groom’s Mom Receives Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis

A Florida couple did the unthinkable, but for an incredible and heartwarming reason. Sam and Brooke Falic planned their entire wedding in just a week after the groom's mom was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer.

With this news, they knew that Sam's mother, Jana, would not be able to attend their dream wedding, which they had planned for January 2024. But they also knew that they couldn't possibly have a wedding without her. So, they got to work and made what most would assume impossible, very possible.

Sam says that even after receiving the diagnosis, his mom's main concern was the wedding. "She had a specific song she always wanted for the mother-son dance and kept asking when she could go to the wedding and the doctors just said 'No.' She was getting worse. We had to move quickly."

Brooke shared that deciding to plan and have a wedding in just a week distracted not only Jana, but everyone else from the cancer diagnosis. "I think she sort of forgot she was about to go through this extensive chemo journey. And for just one week everyone stopped crying and everyone was just so happy," she said. "Both of our families fully came together, there was no fighting, no arguing about anything."

"The truth is that the wedding in January would have never been our dream wedding if Jana wasn't there," Brooke added. "You can have the perfect flowers and the perfect venue, but if the important people in your life aren't there, that's not really your dream wedding."
