Twenty-five years after she starred as Curly Sue in the 1991 film of the same name, Alisan Porter showed off her true passion: singing.
The former 1990s child star auditioned for season 10 of the Voice singing "Blue Bayou." It didn't take long for the four judges — Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Christina Aguilera — to be blown away by her talent (much like the country singer who left them speechless in just a few seconds).
After giving a memorable audition, Porter also explained what brought her to the NBC show at an older age.
"Honestly, I was going through a hard time in life. And then I actually got sober almost eight years ago,” she said. "I fell in love and I had children and that was my goal to just be a good mom. And I really feel like the universe just had a plan for me because you guys turned for me today."
As a mom of two kids herself, Aguilera was "moved" by Porter's words saying, "Nobody works harder than a mom."
"And just inside of you there's so much to say, and people need to hear that hope and between your story and those pipes of yours, I want to be a part of your history," she added.
In the end, Aguilera's words were enough to make Porter choose her as her coach.
