In a dystopian episode of Cribs, Kai walks her viewers through her apartment on a tour of her space where she lives while school is in session at the University of Miami. She has a spacious kitchen and living room in an open concept layout, and then an office where she can do homework and a bedroom that she shares with no one.
“It’s pretty cool. I’m very very lucky to have this as a freshman, ” Kai says as she plops down on her couch in her living room. She admits that the apartment is “amazing” and that “it’s really nice coming home to no one.”
It’s a pretty sweet setup for a college kid. But the fact that this is Kai, whose polarizing grandpa has a lot of critics out there, is a big strike against her. The apartment is giving trust fund nepo baby, and people weren’t afraid to leave comments on the X post sharing their thoughts on Kai’s college apartment.
The dorms at the University of Miami are pretty basic.
Kai likely chose an apartment on her own for college because of the security detail she has as Trump’s granddaughter. If she lives in an apartment by herself, the Secret Service can make sure she is safe at all times. But it’s hard not to compare Kai’s living situation in college to the more standard college dorms at the University of Miami and wonder if this is a case of entitlement.
“She’s boasting and bragging about wealth she never earned,” a user commented on X.
Another person wrote, “Must be nice. My dorm room looked like a closet. No bathroom.”
Some people question why Kai Trump is attending college at all.
In the comments under the X post that shows Kai’s college apartment tour, users criticized her for living in what some see as luxury and for flaunting it to the world, according to some.
“She hurts her popularity by doing this,” one user commented. “Such basic, stupid mistakes. She hasn’t learned modesty or to keep her wealth to herself. She’s showing off with this and forgot that she basically hasn’t worked to get it. She inherited it. Very bad look.”
Another added, “This girl needs a rude awakening. She needs to know how the real world works. Take the entitlement away.”
However, others questioned why Kai is going through the trouble of attending college at all. Some pointed out that she has a YouTube career already, and talent as a golfer. If she didn’t go to college, her career and finances probably wouldn’t suffer, as might happen to someone living a more normal life, so to speak.
