Many people are concerned about their health and taking care of themselves, but in some extreme cases there are people who go to lengths that not many others would. That just so happens to be the case for Japanese father of one and bodybuilder, Daisuke Hori.
The 40-year-old claims that he has only slept for around 30 minutes each night for the past 12 years in order to "double" his life through efficiency gains — and he believes he is a "true master" at what he does.

According to the South China Morning Post, the entrepreneur says that through training his brain and body, he's been able to maintain normal functioning and not feel tired. "As long as you do sports or drink coffee an hour before eating, you can stave off drowsiness," he said.
Daisuke made the decision to cut back on sleep 12 years ago in order to gain more active hours during the day. Now, he conducts classes focused on sleep and health through the Japan Short Sleepers Training Association, which he founded in 2016.
"People who need sustained focus in their work benefit more from high-quality sleep than long sleep," he explained. "For instance, doctors and firefighters have shorter rest periods but maintain high efficiency."

During a three-day look inside his life, which was featured on the Japanese reality show Will You Go With Me? the bodybuilder's normal routine showed him sleeping for only 26 minutes, waking up naturally and refreshed, eating breakfast, and going to the gym.
While some people have praised his lifestyle, others find it of concern with one person saying it was "absolutely impossible." Another person added, "Living off of caffeine because he can’t stay awake normally isn’t a routine that’s healthy at all."
