Dentist Realizes His Patients Are Anxious, So He Installs A Brilliant Ceiling Panel

I don't know about you, but going to the dentist has never been a particularly fun experience for me.

It doesn't matter how often you brush your teeth, floss, use mouthwash, etc. — the dentist always finds something wrong with your teeth.

On the off chance you get a clean bill of health, you still spend a significant amount of time being poked and prodded by dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants.

Plus, for a good portion of your dentist visit, you lay flat in a chair trying to hold a conversation with your dentist who has fingers in your mouth, while staring into a blinding light and trying not to move.

It's not usually something people look forward to or even enjoy, but one dentist in the U.K. decided he wanted to make the experience a little more fun for his patients.

Since he knows people spend a majority of their time staring at the ceiling, he installed a special ceiling panel to keep them entertained.

Going to the dentist is an important part of keeping yourself healthy, but it's something a lot of people dread.

To stay occupied while in the dentist's chair, a lot of people bring their phones, books, magazines, or something else entertaining.

Everyone who goes in empty-handed spends most of their time staring up at the bright dentist light or just at the ceiling.

Without any distractions, it's way too easy to focus entirely on the slightly painful things that are going on in your mouth, so one dentist decided to do something about it.

He installed this ceiling panel above the chair, giving patients something to look at.

Can you tell what it is?

Here's a close-up.

Yep, it's a Where's Waldo? drawing! How clever is that?

Instead of just staring at the ceiling in this dentist's office, you can spend your time trying to find Waldo!

As a kid, my dentist would have a TV on and give us Gameboys to play, but honestly I think this would be even more entertaining than that!

Plus, it's a good distraction for people of all ages, not just little kids.

I'm definitely going to show this to my dentist next time I'm there — they should all do this!
