Diana Ross is a living legend. People of all ages today are familiar with her songs, and she's still an icon in the music industry. And at the age of 71, she's still so fabulous!
In 1983, she performed for a very large live audience in Central Park, and the show was nothing short of mesmerizing.
The setting is absolutely beautiful, on a warm day in July, with over 800,000 people in attendance. Diana takes the stage in a bright orange jumpsuit, complete with a lot of sparkle!
But as the sky gets dark with looming clouds, she interrupts her performance of "Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)" to put on a sheer orange shawl — which looks more like a cape! In the increasingly strong winds of the upcoming storm, the shawl billows and gives her this fantastic look, and as she dramatically poses during the song; she looks like an orange-clad superhero!
When the rain starts pouring, Diana Ross doesn't stop singing. You can see the raindrops on her face, and you see all of the umbrellas that have suddenly popped up in the crowd, but she's as dedicated as ever.
In fact, she has no problem showing the crowd who's boss. Not only does she tell people on one side to stop pushing one another, but she frankly tells them that it took her a lifetime to make it onstage — and that she's not going anywhere!
