When you think of your home, what comes to mind as the dirtiest place or thing inside of it?
If I had to take a wild guess, I'd probably go with my bathroom. More specifically, the toilet seat.
The average toilet seat has about 50 different types of bacteria living on it at one time. That sounds like quite a lot, but when you hear these 14 places and things that have many times more bacteria than that, you might consider cooking your food in the bathroom instead of your kitchen. Well, hopefully you don't go that far.
These 14 dirty things are pretty darn surprising. Think about how often and carefully we clean our toilets; they are frequently disinfected and wiped down. They also are hard and aired out, as opposed to the absorbent and stuffy like the quality of some other places and objects in your home.
Do you know which parts of your house are filthier than a toilet seat? Well, after reading this, you'll know exactly where you should be giving things an extra good cleaning!

14. Cash

A dollar can have up to 200,000 bacteria on it due to all the strange places it's been stored, hands it's passed through, and puddles it's been dropped into over the years. The moral of the story is, our toilet seats really aren't all that dirty, despite the connotations that we have with them. It's the rest of the home that we may just have to worry about!
