These Newlyweds Shocked Their Guests With This Famous Dance

A couple’s first dance is one of the most memorable moments in their life.

Oftentimes, couples stick to tradition and will slow dance to a popular ballad like Etta James’ 1961 hit “At Last” or 1999’s “Amazed” by Lonestar. Other couples, however, sway from custom and get a little bit more creative, like one couple who danced to Michael Jackson's "Thriller."

Julia and James, a U.K. couple that married in 2005, decided to reenact the famous scene from Dirty Dancing where Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey boogie to “Time of My Life.”

As the song played in the background, the then-newlyweds mimicked almost every dance move while their guests circled around them.

The little shimmy the couple does at the 1:57 mark made all their guests applaud. But it doesn’t compare to the reaction they received when they recreated the legendary moment (the 2:57 mark) in which Grey jumps in the air and Swayze catches her over his head.

Julia and James' wedding dance wasn't only a hit with their guests — it has reached almost 10 million views since it was shared in 2007.

Around that time, the couple was even invited to appear on several television shows, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, where the late actor even showed up to meet the couple!
