The ocean is somewhat of a sacred place. Spending a day at the beach, wiggling your toes in the sand and cooling off in the salty refreshing water is something every person should be able to experience at least once in their lifetime. But enjoying the ocean and its beaches comes with a little responsibility, too.
Keeping trash out of the water and having a general respect for the ocean and all of its inhabitants are two things that should always be done in order to enjoy this privilege.
But having respect for the ocean is a little different than fearing it. While we have seen videos that show how dangerous the ocean can be — remember the time a diver got out of his diving cage to give a massive great white shark a high five? — attacks are actually lower than you might think.
Understanding that the ocean serves as a home to millions of fish and sea creatures above everything else is the most important thing, and doing your part to help them survive will ensure that they can be enjoyed for the years to come.
The kayaking group in this video gets to spend their days paddling in the open waters taking in the scenery on a pretty regular basis. So when they saw three juvenile dolphins tangled in seaweed in fairly shallow water, they knew just what they had to do.
Working as a team, they free the trapped dolphins, doing their part to keep what they love alive and well.
