We hear stories about suffering animals and unfit pet owners way too often these days.
Fortunately, there are so many good people in this world who are willing to lend a hand and help out these poor creatures in unbelievable ways.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of those incredible human beings.
In 2015, he was alerted on Twitter by actress Michelle Trachtenberg about an alarming situation involving an abused puppy. Once it was brought to his attention, he learned that the canine was named after him — because he was going to have quite the fight ahead of him.
The poor dog was rescued from an abusive home after being found with a wire coiled around his jaw. After having the metal removed, Dwayne Johnson the puppy was going to need further surgeries to help improve his health.
Luckily, the original Dwayne came to this dog's rescue right away.

Not only does he have huge muscles, but he also has an enormous heart. When Dwayne logged onto Twitter, he became a hero to an animal he'd never even met in a matter of moments.
On November 23, 2015, Actress Michelle Trachtenberg posted a GoFundMe page for a puppy named Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and tagged the real life actor and former pro-wrestler in it. She wanted to make sure human Dwayne heard about this poor dog, who was rescued from abuse.
Then next day, Dwayne realized what was going on with his canine namesake and he knew he had to do something to help.
So, he responded, pledging to make a difference in canine Dwayne's life.
The suffering puppy needed $5,000 worth of surgery to help him live a healthy life. Then, Dwayne did something completely heartwarming.
Dwayne donated a whopping $1,500 to the pooch's crowdfunding account and even left a sweet message for him!
Later on, Michelle thanked Dwayne for his support and he, being The Rock we all know and love, knew just how to make light of the situation.
Thanks to Michelle, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and over 130 other people, this puppy's life changed forever. According to his GoFundMe page, the surgery was a success and he's feeling better than ever!
