Every new parent prays that their newborn will come into the world happy and healthy, but sometimes things don't go exactly as hoped for.
For proud new mother Jennifer Cornell, her beautiful baby boy named Joseph had trouble from his very first day on Earth. From the moment he was born, he suffered from eczema, and for the next four years of his life, things never seemed like they would ever get better.
His worried parents tried everything you could imagine to put a stop to this horrible disease: they went to countless doctor's appointments, dermatologist visits, creams, emollients and steroids, but nothing ever seemed to help.
But as her little boy grew up, the physical pain caused by his eczema was no match for the emotional damages it was causing to his self-confidence. He was losing his appetite, and he always asked to wear long-sleeved shirts so he didn't have to look at his own red arms and wrists.
Desperate for a cure, Cornell reached out to Dr. Aron, a well-known specialist in this medical field. While many other doctors continued to tell her to wait it out, Dr. Aron responded to this amazing mom and came up with a special treatment tailor-made for her suffering child. Twenty-four hours after he began his treatment, Cornell couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Jennifer Cornell always dreamed of having the perfect family. So when she found out she was pregnant with her first boy, she was overjoyed that all of her dreams were coming true!
While her baby Joseph was certainly beautiful in every single way and filled with energy and spirit, he was suffering from a severe case of eczema.
Those first four years of Joseph's life were a very hard time for the whole family. Joseph was on the verge of depression at such a young age.
He had just started school, and many of his classmates commented to him how he looked like a "burn victim."
Cornell was getting desperate. Tired of seeing her boy so sad, sick of the doctors who couldn't help, and so angry that her baby woke up in blood-covered sheets every morning due to his constant itching and scratching, she reached out to Dr. Aron.
In her letter to Dr. Aron, you can see how worried she is for her baby boy:
"Joseph's eczema never used to bother him much but now he is constantly scratching and he has become quite withdrawn, he gets very upset and distressed when he can see his 'sore skin' and asks to wear long-sleeved tops so he can't see it because it upsets him. He is waking up constantly throughout the night and his appetite is also suffering and is pretty much nonexistent at the moment, which as you can imagine is a major worry for us."
But Dr. Aron responded, they started treatment just a few days after her letter, and within 24 hours of Joseph's first treatment, as if by magic, his eczema began to fade away!
Joseph saw massive improvement. And not only with his skin, but his love of eating returned! He was no longer crying every night, but most importantly, he stopped scratching!
Cornell couldn't help but hold back her excitement and exclaim: "It was like a miracle!"
Nowadays, this family will finally get the chance to live without the everyday nightmare of Joseph's eczema. Thanks to the caring Dr. Aron, they'll finally get the chance to be totally happy. It's heartbreaking that this little boy had to go through so much trauma at such a young age, but something tells us that with a family like this, he'll be OK!
