Like all the best singer-songwriters, Ella Henderson's inspiration comes straight from the heart.
She may only be 16-years-old, but she knows what hurt feels like and has used that fuel for her songwriting fire. In this incredibly touching video, Ella explains that she became interested in music thanks to her grandfather, who acted as a true mentor and friend to her. After his death, the talented teen was devastated and wrote a moving song for her hero.
You can see the raw emotion coming from her soul during this unbelievable performance. Her beautiful and powerful voice is reminiscent of another talented artist who got her start on television, Kelly Clarkson. It's safe to say that Ella's granddad was definitely smiling down on her X Factor audition.
