This Mom Is On A Mission To Change How Women See Their Bodies

If you could use one word to describe how you feel about your body, what would it be?

It breaks my heart that more often times than not, people will say things like fat, frumpy, imperfect and as you'll see in this next video, even disgusting. We've seen this idea in other viral videos, like this one from Dove, where women are seriously hard on themselves and often unknowingly pass this awful trait along to their children.

Kids today are more concerned with how they look than ever before. It may seem cute and funny when they're young, but suddenly someday it becomes a real problem, often stuck with them for life. In the following video, we learn of one mom who wants to break this terrible cycle.

Taryn Brumfitt admits that she used to hate her body. She would look in the mirror and become depressed, even though she was pretty fit by most standards. As you'll see, Brumfitt decided to seek out the "perfect" body and became so fit, she even entered a female bikini contest. Yet for some reason, she still hated the way she looked. At one point in the video, she recalls seeing two women, both who had mastectomies to remove a breast, hugging on the beach, taking comfort in not being alone.

This moment moved me to tears, as she finally realized that these women have been through unthinkable pain and still love themselves just the way they are. Now, Taryn hopes to raise money for her project, "EMBRACE," to create a film encouraging other women, especially mothers, to learn to love their bodies and stop being walking contradictions to younger generations.

This short video is guaranteed to touch your heart. Will you please SHARE it with all of the amazing women in your life to help Taryn on her important mission?
