When Glenn Triggs, an independent filmmaker based in Australia, was confronted by his girlfriend about why he never made a video with her, he had the perfect remedy.
He got as many of their friends and family members as possible over to his house, behind her back, to film for about two minutes each.
He told each of them to pretend to hold a necklace in their hands, and to pass it onto an invisible person off screen. They might have thought that these instructions were a bit strange, but they obliged with smiles.
All of their family and friends had no idea what was truly going on, and neither did his girlfriend…
This man is one good secret-keeper.
When their fifth-anniversary celebration finally rolled around, his big moment had arrived.
They take a fancy stretch limo to a bed-and-breakfast about an hour away from the city, but when they're both finally all settled in with their robes, he sits her down on the couch with a glass of wine.
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" he asks her a few times over. I don't think she was ready, but her reaction to this touching video and what was truly in her family's hands are both perfect.
You have to see what the dog has in his mouth at the end…
