1939 Designers Predicted We’d Dress Like THIS Today. You Won’t Believe These Outfits!

If you love fashion and history as much as I do, I guarantee this next video is going to blow your mind…

Back in 1939, no one knew what to expect of the future. The world was a confusing time back then. World War II was just beginning and many Americans were still feeling the financial hardships of the Great Depression.

Many people found solace in going to the movies during this time. In 1939, iconic movies like Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz kept people distracted from their own lives. Since so few people could afford fabulous fashions like they saw on the silver screen, they idolized characters like Scarlett O'Hara, and many retailers duplicated these fashions in their stores.

The following video is a lesser-known film from 1939. It features women dressed in "Clothing of the Future" and describes what people back then thought women would wear in the year 2000. One outfit features lots of net, "probably to catch the males." Now, anyone alive in the 80s and 90s knows that "net" was a big hit before Y2K, but some of the other comments are just hysterical!

This is guaranteed to crack you right up. Please SHARE with all of your friends on Facebook!
