Losing a loved one is always a tragic event. For spouses in particular, it's hard to lose the person who stood by your side for so many years.
Unfortunately, that's what happened to Roseanne Kleppsattel, when her 77-year-old husband passed away. He was a fire chief, who dedicated his life to the service, and she is a volunteer firefighter.
Roseanne attended his funeral, and said her final goodbyes. But when she was convinced that she felt his presence on her way back from that funeral, she sprung into action.
On the highway, the funeral procession came across a five-car pile-up, with a driver sill trapped behind the wheel.
Immediately, she leapt out of the car, duty calling.
She tells CBS New York, "When you're in this type of service this many years, you react."
Wearing a uniform and manning a hose, she and other firefighters helped pull the driver from the wreck. Thanks to them, the driver is safe and sound and expected to be okay!
Now, she's convinced that being at the right place at the right time was no coincidence! After all, her husband spent years trying to save others; it was only appropriate that she do the same on the day of his funeral.
Please SHARE to thank this widow for her years of service, and to commend her for her quick thinking!
