There are only so few who are so crazy as to attempt such a dangerous stunt, but I love watching this man in action!
Meet climber Alain Robert, who knows that only one misstep can lead to certain death. But this does not stop the proclaimed "French Spiderman" from scaling buildings.
At 53 years old, Alain is a very nimble climber — as he should be, if he's choosing to forgo the use of a harness.
In this incredible clip, he's attempting to climb the Ariane building in Paris, which is about 458 feet high. Watch him confidently walk up to a suitable spot at the building's base, and without any hint of hesitation, simply start scaling the building, without any means to be caught should he fall.
His confidence is astounding, as his technique allows him to climb up the building at a surprisingly fast pace. He even pauses somewhere halfway up the building, and admires the stunned crowd below.
The gravity-defying stunt was completed without a hitch, but the full scale of the endeavor is revealed once the camera zooms out and shows Alain so close to the edge that you're almost egging him on!
