Thanks to advancements in science and technology, we're seeing miracles that were beyond our wildest dreams happen every single day. Many deaf Americans thought they'd never get the opportunity to hear, but devices like cochlear implants are helping them listen to the world around them for the very first time.
Recently, a beautiful moment was captured on film in which a mother filmed her daughter who has albinism wearing her first pair of glasses. Thanks to the glasses, this infant was able to clearly see her mother's face for the first time ever. It's an incredibly sweet encounter you'll want to share.
According to the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation (NOAH), "People with albinism have little or no pigment in their eyes, skin, or hair. They have inherited altered genes that do not make the usual amounts of pigment called melanin … All forms of albinism are associated with vision problems."
The vision problems associated with albinism differ from person to person. Some are able to go through life with the basic assistance of seeing devices — but for others, the effects are more extreme and they are considered "legally blind."
NOAH advises that it's especially important for small children to be given vision aids, otherwise they may get frustrated in doing certain tasks because they cannot see properly. This may hinder their development.
This little girl, Louise, is clearly loved by her doting mom. Her reaction to seeing her mom's face clearly for the first time just shows how much they love each other.
The video is short, but sweet.
