Wounded Veteran Gets The Gift Of A Lifetime In Return For His Service

The Texas Sentinels Foundation gave wounded Sgt. Greg Dotson a mortgage-free house to thank him for all he’s done for his country.

When Dotson, his wife, and their six children moved in, they couldn’t have been more thankful.

“It felt like I was walking into my home not just for the first time. Like I’ve always been here, ” his wife Amber Dotson said.

As an Army medic, Dotson is recognized for saving more than 160 people during his deployment. But, the veteran, who spent two tours in Iraq, lost his leg after an explosion, similarly to Noah Galloway.

Dotson, however, remains humble speaking of other veterans who deserve the opportunity just as much.

“Just knowing that there are others out there who never will have this opportunity who did more than I ever did, it's hard,” Dotson said. “It's very hard."

Yet, if anyone were to ask Dotson if he would enlist in the army again, he just has to point to his one-of-a-kind prosthetic leg shown at the 2:10 mark to prove his point.

“I don’t regret anything and this is kind of my way of saying that,” he said. “I lost my leg but I’m proud of how I lost it.”
