Gwyneth Paltrow Invites Celebrity Women To A Makeup-Free Dinner Party And They (Mostly) Oblige

Gwyneth Paltrow threw a get-together for some of our favorite stars recently, but it was unlike most Hollywood parties in that she invited her guests to come makeup free. When we think of celebrity parties, typically we imagine everyone glammed up and photo-ready. But at this one, it was all fresh faces without the lip liner, the mascara, the foundation, or the bronzer. What a sight to be seen! Of course, these beautiful women don't need makeup to help them out, but it's still a lovely message for us to see them go without every once in a while to inspire us all to embrace a more natural look sometimes, too.

It's almost hard to imagine what these women would look like without makeup. But luckily we have the photos to prove it. Gwyneth took to her Instagram page to share images of all the natural beauties who came to the event. She posted pictures of herself alongside Demi Moore, Kate Hudson, Rachel Zoe, and others with captions celebrating the bare-face aspect of her gathering.

While most celebrities do love their makeup, we see Gwyneth go without sometimes. She posts makeup-free selfies on her social media accounts once in a while, and of course, the 47-year-old looks gorgeous no matter what. Must be all those Goop-worthy skin care products and her inner shine coming through.

It's nice to see other women doing the same, though, especially those in the public eye. We don't often see a group of famous women gathering together and all leaving their makeup behind. Gwyneth definitely wanted to make this party about embracing natural beauty, though. And that certainly comes through in the photos from the event.

The actress shared several photos on her Instagram page of herself next to stars like Demi Moore and Kate Hudson. The women look happy and excited to be taking part in a dinner party while embracing their natural looks, too. It's probably a bit refreshing to have to spend less time getting ready anyway!

From the looks of the pictures, it seems like just about everyone was makeup free. Fans were quick to call out one celebrity in particular, though, who looked like she might be wearing makeup. In one image, it appears that Rachel Zoe has on eyeliner.

Rachel quickly addressed the commenters calling her out. She said that she'd had makeup on earlier in the day and that some eye makeup was still on her face. Still, seeing the efforts all these ladies made to show up in their natural state is pretty encouraging.

Gwyneth definitely takes the message seriously. You could tell by the tone of her posts that it was an important part of the gathering for her. "No make up, no filter," she wrote on Instagram. "An amazing gathering of some of the best women on planet earth."

Alongside another picture she wrote, "About last night… had the immense pleasure of interviewing @grantalexandra one of THE most brilliant, expansive, talented thinkers I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with." She was talking about Alexandra Grant, who is an artist and the girlfriend of Keanu Reeves.

The picture showed Alexandra and Demi Moore surrounding Gwyneth, whose caption continued with, "A beautiful gathering in celebration of beauty just the way we come." It's inspiring to see Gwyneth so excited about natural beauty, to be honest. And it would be amazing if this event started a trend of more celebrity women going makeup free more often.

Embracing wearing makeup is not a bad thing. But it's still wonderful to see stars who are willing to even show their natural faces, because the truth is, we get so used to seeing them made up, we don't even know what most celebrities look like without it. Some of them likely look completely different, yet the greater public assumes they look flawless all the time.

We don't know a whole lot more about why Gwyneth wanted to host an event like this other than to celebrate natural beauty, but no matter what, it's lovely to see. Maybe she's making an effort to turn the tide of beauty culture. The fact is, the standard definition of beauty is changing to include many different kinds of beautiful, including more natural beauty, and we're here for it. Apparently, so is Gwyneth.
