Cab Calloway Sings Hilarious Version Of ‘Minnie The Moocher’

Cab Calloway is one of those musical figures from American history that has forever defined what it means to be "cool."

One of the most renowned jazz singers of all time, this amazing singer will forever be considered one of the brightest stars of the Harlem Renaissance. Along with his orchestra, Calloway managed to become world famous thanks to his energetic performances, ability to entertain and include a crowd, and his all-around excitable energy.

Not only was Calloway visible in live performances, but he also managed to make it on the silver screen during the golden age of Hollywood. In an era of turbulent racial divides Calloway appeared in 20th Century Fox's big budget musical film Stormy Weatherwhich was one of the first films that had an all-star African American cast!

With his vaudevillian singing style and his utter control of the crowd, he really managed to define his own sense of style that has gone on throughout the ages to be the standard of good jazz and good times.

But perhaps his biggest commercial success was his wildly entertaining scat song, "Minnie the Moocher." The song was also made famous in the famous Betty Boop short film that shows her adventure into the underworld, featuring Calloway singing the song as the ghost of a dancing walrus among other terrifying imagery.

Though Calloway departed this Earth in 1994, his dedication to his craft and his ability to wow the crowd has inspired generations of singers, dancers, writers, musicians, and artists of all kinds over the years.

His incredible contribution will always be remembered, and thanks to him we'll always remember what it is to be a graceful entertainer!

Please SHARE his amazing song if you wish they still made entertainers like this today!
