1 Hollywood High School Student Dies And 3 Others Overdose On Fentanyl-Laced Pills

A teenage girl has died after overdosing on what authorities believe were pills laced with fentanyl.

Now, Los Angeles police are investigating the incident. While one teen died after taking the pills, three others overdosed.

Shockingly, the incident took place at Hollywood's Bernstein High School.

The Los Angeles Police Department was called to the school on Tuesday evening at around 9 p.m. after the parent of a teen found his missing stepdaughter in the bathroom at the school.

"She appeared to be a victim of an overdose and told the parent that a friend was also in the women's restroom," the police statement reads. "The parent found a school employee, entered the women's restroom, and found an apparent overdose victim who was unresponsive."

The parent tried to help the teen, but it was too late. She was pronounced dead at the scene. There was another teen present who was taken to the hospital. Now, investigators are saying they believe a group of students bought what the thought were Percocet pills in Lexington Park. Two other high school students also overdosed at around the same time.

While the incident is frightening, it reflects a massive increase in fentanyl-related deaths in recent years.
