Anne Bosche recently told Care2.com a story about courage, kindness, and destiny — and when you hear it, you'll be moved to tears.
One day, Anne was taking her dog out before bedtime when she saw a hungry, homeless cat in her yard. She ran inside to grab some food and placed a bowl beneath the bush where the cat had been hiding. The next night, he was back again.
It became a daily routine between the two, and Ann started to fall in love with the poor cat, which she named "Mr. Fancy." He waited on her porch each day and night for her to feed him and to spend a few minutes together.
She says, “He stayed a month. My husband figured we already had enough animals with a dog and two cats and wanted me to take the cat to the animal shelter. The next morning, I reluctantly loaded him up in a cat carrier and off we went. I dropped him off and an attendant took him to the back where the cages are. When he brought me my carrier, he said that the cat was back there banging his head against the iron cage door. I cried the five miles back to my house."
Like any worried animal lover, Ann started to check the shelter's website to see if Mr. Fancy had been adopted yet — but nothing. No information was available. That's because Fancy had escaped the shelter 20 minutes after he arrived.
Ann had no idea at the time, but her beloved cat was on his way to find her!
Then one day, at 5:30 in the morning, Ann heard her husband talking to someone in the kitchen.
"I got up to see and what I found was nothing short of a miracle. I saw a cat, sitting at my husband’s feet, talking to him. I kept trying to focus on the cat and when he flipped his tail around, I saw proof. There was the white tip. I started crying and quietly said ‘Oh my baby, Hi Fancy.’ He turned, saw me and ran to me, talking and squealing the whole way. I truly think he was saying ‘I found you! I’m home now.’ ”
Mr. Fancy was home for good.
“This cat spent a month traveling along busy streets, rail road [sic] lines, and rough neighborhoods trying to find me,” Ann said. “I think he had a guardian angel looking out for him, directing him back to my house. I love him so much and feel we were meant to be together. He belongs here. Mr. Fancy will never want for a home, food or love again.”

Anne found a stray cat hiding in her Mississippi yard. From that day on, she and "Mr. Fancy" developed an incredible bond.
Mr. Fancy stayed with Anne and her husband for a month, but eventually they decided it would be best to bring the cat to a shelter for adoption. The couple already had two cats and a dog. So, they dropped Mr. Fancy off, but were left heartbroken to leave him behind.
But one early morning, Anne heard her husband talking to someone, but she couldn't figure out who. She went into the kitchen and was completely shocked. There was her husband and Mr. Fancy. The determined cat escaped the shelter upon arrival, and made the journey back to Anne's home.
Anne says Mr. Fancy is home for good. He's earned his place in her family, and her heart.
