The following segment from Dr. Phil features a married couple who seemed to be struggling through the pandemic.
For the past 10 years, Ernest says his house has been a mess. The root of the reason? He says his wife, Christy, is a hoarder who doesn’t cook or clean.

According to the Mayo Clinic, "Hoarding disorder is a persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions because of a perceived need to save them. A person with hoarding disorder experiences distress at the thought of getting rid of the items. Excessive accumulation of items, regardless of actual value, occurs."
As Ernest gives a Dr. Phil producer a tour of his home, he points out a slew of messes: furniture the cats have destroyed, piles of dirty dishes, ants all over the kitchen, and Halloween and Christmas decorations that have been hanging up for months.
Their once beautiful home is now on the brink of going into foreclosure.
Not only that, but Ernest claims Christy's messy tendencies are also beginning to rub off on their daughters.
There are two sides to every story, however, and in the clip below Christy reveals the reasons why she believes she can no longer maintain their home.
