It's not uncommon to see young kids doing things with their grandparents in Germany, but some of those grandparents may actually be "adopted!"
Germany has developed a plan to link young families with older couples who are looking for the grandchildren they never had, and so far, this unorthodox way of raising children has provided an amazing bond for both the kids, and the older couples involved.
"If you look at other older people, they're just sitting in front of the television," says Paul Eckstein, who has helped raise his surrogate grandchild Therese for years. "Whereas I have this lively relationship. It gives me something to do. And when Therese is drawing a picture, and she draws three hearts, and Paul, my name, is on one of them, that really touches me."
After watching this video, I have to say, there's something really wonderful about connecting these two generations! What do you think?
