Woman Claims To Be Child Missing For Over 20 Years After Recognizing Herself On A Poster

In 2000, 7-year-old Brittany Renee Williams disappeared. The child, who had been diagnosed with AIDS, hasn't been seen or heard from since. At the time, a woman named Kim Parker told the police that the little girl had been sent to live with a family in California.

Recently, a woman from Indiana has come forward claiming that she is Brittany.

In October 2021, Kaylynn Stevenson came forward and said she has DNA evidence that proves she is the child in question. Kaylynn first spoke to NBC about the case, claiming that authorities were simply looking for her in the wrong state over the years.

Since then, Kaylynn has appeared on the Dr. Phil show to make her case. In a clip from the show, she claims, "I went missing 21 years ago from Virginia. I disappeared from a group home. I don’t remember a lot. I don’t know anything about my adoption. I was raised by my adoptive parents. I always remembered the name Williams so I did an internet search, and I ended up finding the missing poster for Brittany Williams."
