Ivanka Trump Reportedly Won’t Attend Dad Donald Trump’s Hush Money Trial

On Monday, April 22, 2024, the jury heard opening arguments in a case alleging that former President Donald Trump paid off adult film star Stormy Daniels to cover up an extramarital affair during the 2016 presidential election. This is the first time a former president has been on trial for criminal charges. Everyone’s eyes are on this unprecedented case.

This includes Donald’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, who happened to be in New York City while jury selection was going on. This does not mean she will attend the trial proceedings, a source told Page Six. Ivanka will continue to support her father from afar.

A source close to the situation broke down what Ivanka is thinking. “I’m told Ivanka has spoken to her father over the last few days and remains as supportive as ever,” they explained. This support does not translate into in-person attendance.

Ivanka appears to have drawn a line in the sand on this issue. “One thing that is for certain is that she will not be in court for the Stormy Daniels trial, and neither will [Donald's wife] Melania. The trial remains embarrassing for all the Trump women,” the source concluded.

Ivanka was in New York City on April 16, 2024. She was spotted at the Aman hotel. This was around the same time that jurors were being selected in her dad’s trial.

Ivanka worked as an aide to her father during his presidency. When Donald announced his candidacy for the 2024 election, Ivanka was noticeably absent. She released a statement shortly after explaining she would not be participating this time around.

"I love my father very much," Ivanka explained. "This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics."

In 2023, Ivanka was forced to testify in her father’s civil fraud case. She worked hard to distance herself from the messy situation. She often replied that she could not recall specifics when pressed for details. She claimed to have no role in her father’s personal finances. Ivanka also testified to Congress’ January 6th committee of her own free will.

It appears Ivanka is doing everything in her power to stay away from her father’s drama. She occasionally gets sucked back in. It’s a balancing act for her to manage it all.
