It’s impossible NOT to fall in love with Janet Devlin, a shy and nervous 16-year-old singer and songwriter who came into her own in front of the world.
From a tiny village in Northern Ireland, the nervous teenager never felt like she “fit in” in school and used her songwriting skills as a great escape from reality. When she flew to London to compete on the X Factor she was incredibly nervous and said it was a lot easier to sing in front of her mirror than taking the risk of singing in front of an audience. However, this video proves that the one place she does fit in is on stage.
She has the voice of an angel – and the grace of one, too. Her hauntingly beautiful and unique voice will give you chills when she sings her incredible version of “Your Song” by Elton John. Even though you can hear her nervousness in her voice, it’s part of her humble appeal and in my opinion, adds to her character. You truly can’t hide true talent and Janet Devlin is an amazing example of that.
