Jimmy Kimmel regularly hosts editions of "Lie Witness News" for his late night show, which dupes unsuspecting people into commenting on completely false news stories. Well, this week, Kimmel sent his team to the streets and was completely shocked to find seven out of 14 people say they saw Dr. Martin Luther King give a speech Monday. It's hard to fathom that in 2015, you'd be able to trick that many people.
It's unfortunate that so many people are ignorant or totally uninformed about such an important figure in American history. King, best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights, gave his famous address in 1963. He was tragically assassinated in 1968.
In the video, one man was asked about his reaction to the speech, he replied, "I was shocked. I couldn't believe it. I was like, 'How, how could it happen?' I haven’t heard him talk for a while."
Another woman liked "all the details and things like that" of the nonexistent speech. Watch the clip to see more of the ridiculous claims.
